A new medical facility for the Capstone Family Medicine practice; this facility provides family medical, laboratory as well as counseling. The central waiting area features a large clerestory-lit atrium and daylight controlled lighting. It also incorporates a conference room as well as a children’s play area with aquarium. The building has a full healthcare compliment of offices, staff lounge, breakrooms and ancillary spaces. There are additional suites for imaging which includes x-ray and ultrasound, Eye Clinic and Medical Spa. Energy efficient features include additional insulation (R30 walls), high efficient parabolic fluorescent lighting, LED can lighting, occupancy and daylight dimming controls for lighting, high efficiency condensing boilers and variable speed fans. The Center is zoned to provide separate air handling systems for the main clinic, the eye clinic and the imaging suite.

Ptarmigan Pediatrics

This new medical facility for Ptarmigan Pediatrics provides family medical, laboratory, physical therapy, counseling, as well as a specialty suite. The central waiting area features a large clerestory-lit atrium and daylight-controlled lighting. It also incorporates children’s play areas with an aquarium.

MSB Animal Shelter

 An addition and renovation to the existing 7000sf facility, the new Animal Care Facility provides state-of-the-art services to the valley. The new facility includes Adoption and Isolation Kennels, Cateries, Exotics Kennels, a Large Animal Barn, Grooming stations, separate Adoption Rooms, Clinic, Exam Room, Surgery Suite, Administrative Offices, Staff Break and Changing areas, a public-use Classroom and a drive-through Vehicle Bay. The building’s sustainable features include reusing the existing building shell, a new energy efficient envelope, low-E glazing, locally manufactured products, recycled content products, energy efficient lighting with phased control levels, efficient plumbing fixtures, heat exchangers on the mechanical ventilation units and Energy Star appliances including a high efficiency crematorium freezer.

 The project was a design-build, allowing for integrated design practices and efficient cost estimations. In August 2010, the ACF celebrated its 10th month as a “nokill” shelter. Actually, by working closely with rescue groups it’s been 10 months for dogs and 12 months for cats. Within a few months of opening, adoption rates increased by 60% compared to the old facility. In those 12 months they took 3,511 animals into the shelter. Some other interesting statistics: Animal Care staff assisted members of the public with the difficult decision of euthanasia 196 times, provided private cremation services for 48 pets, and returned 561 lost pets to their owners.

Far Country Animal Hospital

The Far Country Animal Hospital is the first veterinary facility of it’s kind in the Mat-Su Valley. Improving upon the traditional role of a veterinary clinic, the animal hospital is equipped to provide urgent care, diagnostics and imaging. The building program includes; reception, patient rooms, offices, clinical suite, x-ray and ultrasound, isolated kennels, washrooms and staff areas. A second phase of the project included expansion into the upper area within the roof trusses for staff lounge and offices. Durable and hygienic materials, along with top-of-the-line furnishings compliment the attractive lobby, exam and treatment areas.

Providence Imaging Associates

This project was designed as a temporary, relocatable structure with an estimated lifespan of 5 years.  The work included design and construction of 6,500 sf of medical office for Providence Alaska Medical Center to house a state of the art full service imaging clinic including a 64 slice CT Scan and 1.5 tesla MRI. This fast-tracked project moved from concept to construction in December and was completed in just 7 months within the developers budget.

This project provides a facility for multiple practitioners for Endocrinology and Diabetes. The 5,250sf facility has been designed to be energy efficient and uses durable materials throughout. The upper level of the clinic has been designed to accommodate residential use.
