Clare Swan Early Headstart

The Headstart facility is an adaptive reuse of an existing 7,500sf restaurant building into an early learning center. The project client was Cook Inlet Tribal Council and followed the national Head Start guidelines. The facility is licensed to provide day care services to 78 children aged 6 weeks to 3 years and provides nine classroom spaces along with a full commercial kitchen, administrative and support functions. The project completely re-constructed the interiors, windows and exterior finishes for a healthy, fun and efficient building. The redesign provided 45% savings compared to the original facility, saving about $8,850 annually.
